This is on my dad's sled, 1 lug is missing on the whole track. Is it bad enough to justify a new track?

You will get alot of differant opinions on this one but I personally I would not be too concerned as long as there are no apparent tears in the track itself, just keep an eye on it.

thats nothing, thats just the top rubber layer came off the cords (and possibly the lug if ther was one there too). i believe Ding said somethin about using some shoe repair stuff to patch over it. but that looks structurally sound, just a bit of cosmetic. if the cords were ripped, then your startin to get into something.

Nope i wouldn't worry about it, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to give that carrolltech a call, heard a lot of great things about them, and they do most of their repairs with the track still on the sled.

ahh ive seen way worse on my sleds ive road it with almost nuttin left but studs. ive had tracks with the fibers whowing on every outside lug

Is that an 1.25" Predator? Looks familiar with lugs missing, I've lost 2 now in 3 seasons. Run it

Before I changed my track last year I counted 23 complete holes through my track where the studs went through. I had no problems . The one major worry I had was an outside lug tore through and I actually had a slice on the outside of the track where I must of spun over a rock and cut it. Thats when I started to think seriously about it when I was wot accross the lake.

There was some vendor at the Novi Snow Show a year or two ago that offered track repairs. I saw the demo and it seems like it is quite durable depending on if it was a rip thru stud or a missing lug but might be different for a tear. You can repair the rubber. It is similar to retreading a truck tire.
