Clutch puller

Does a clutch puller work like this?
1) remove primary clutch bolt
2) put the clutch puller in the bolt's place and
3) when you tighten it, the clutch will pop off the crankshaft?

For the most part yes that's how it works... i think step #3 should be more like "torque the crap out of it until it comes off the first time" But after you get it off the first time it's not too hard. You can use an impact gun or I just stick a pry bar through the clutch and torque the puller... works good for me anyway. Some people will tell you not to use an impact gun because it's supposed to be hard on the crank bearings... that's your call but I didn't listen lol.
