Just wandering what should I gap these plugs at.Normally according to the manual(Yamaha) you can set your gap .028-.031 inch. Normally again I gap my plugs at .028 inch. This should be ok.I mean the difference between .028 and .031 is so small.Do most of you gap .028 0r .031.

Really, well I like to be precise. Thanks for your opinion.I am waiting for them windage plates by the way 2000SRX.

BlueMonster, This is off topic. But your Avatar Looks Coool, Has something to do With the Color Or the way it was taken Or enhanced.. I dont know but It looks Different But in a good Way!!

Auji,I thought that shot was diferent to,kinda like it.Thanks for the comments. Hey do you have any snow in your parts of the country. It is trying to snow here.

I've gaped many but they are nearly at 28-30 right out of the box. As long as they fire and your not burning out coils what difference should it make.

The last time I gapped plugs was 40 years ago when we used to sand blast the plugs to clean them up for anouther 5,000 miles of riding. By that time the electrodes were so burnt down that we had to regap. I'm a little richer and wiser so now I just buy new plugs.

I remember those. I had an orange one that worked. How well is another matter. Now a day's most of us foul a plug and throw it away afterwards.

I usually just take the plugs (NGK Iridium Solid) outta the package, and install them, but making sure there isnt any crap on the plugs or anything. I should gap them but I dont, almost liek im forgetting, lol.

Next time ill gap them, some good info on this thread, gunna remember the gap size.

not trying to hijack the thread.. but i run br9 ecs in my 700 srx.. are these the plugs you guys use? and is there a cheap place to buy them..here in canada my dealer sells them for 16$ each

The question is can you really gap NGK IRIDIUM IX plugs ? The electroy is so fragile.
I broke the tip off when i tried to gap one Iridium plug for my honda prelude.
All other regular plugs like the br9es plugs should be gapped .

I put the Iridium in the sled today, didn't gap them but checked to see if they were consistent.Gapfrom the box was .028"on the loose side, just left them. Sled started up no problem and reved up good.
