I have a 99 srx 600 and I would like to change my bottom gear in my chain case to a 37 from a 39. My top gear is a 23. I know in the service manual it says that I should run a 68L chain, when currently I have a 70L chain. But I am not sure I am going to like the new gear ratio. The question I have for you guys is do I have to put a 68L chain in even for a couple trial runs? Or will this chain work for good? I have about 1 inch of bolt adjustment. Has anyone ever run a 23 top 37 bottom on a 70L chain? I just was looking at the tech pages on the web site and the same year srx 700 came stock with a 23/37 gears and ran a 70L chain. Can someone please clear this up for me!!!!!
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!!
