What kinda track.

Hey stock track is finally givin up, now i just wanted to hear what kinda tracks you guys are runing, i no longer want to run studs so if anyone has thumbs up and thumbs downs about some tracks post it, i really wanted a 1.5" paddle but after thinking about roads up north how the snow dosens get that deep on roads im gonna burn my slids up i think i have decided to go with the 1.25".
 
Thats what ive herd that the ribsaw hooks up great, i herd it from some one runnign a 1.5 ribsaw though so i hope it would still have good traction do you think a 1.25 would be a good track in powder? i like messin around in the fields up north my stock track wouldnt lift the skis in powder if its life depended do you think the could lift with the 1.25
 
I would go with the 1.25 predator track if you are looking for all around performance. The ripsaw is a track that only performs well when you are on hard pack. The predator performs well on EVERYTHING snow wise. In fact a 1" predator will outperform the 1.25 ripsaw in powder and loose snow. Give me a PM and I can get you some Prices on these tracks if you are interested.

I just put on the 1" predator and look forward to trying it out.

I think if I were going to buy a new track (mine is a slightly used one from Ebay off an AC of all things) I'd go 1.25 since there is room for it.
 
i ran a 1.5" ripsaw on my attak and do tons of off trail so who ever thinks they dont perform off trail are on crack and havent tried one.and on trail they rock.i had no issue's with hyfax in 1100 miles.i liked it so much i took out the 1.25" ripsaw in my rage i just bought and putting in another 1.5 ripsaw.if your going to novi show stop over i will have both tracks.

haha thanks for the info i jst put a 1inch predator on my vmax
 
you tell me ? i know........but the answer is only in powder.and with ripsaw you dont need studs.the predator will slide out on corners and the pred. doesnt come in 1.5".hes riding in mich. not out west where you are climbing elevation.even climbing bigger hills in mich .the ripsaw works great and thats on a attak (tank).on a 2 stroke its a bigger blast.
 
Was at the Big East sno-show and spoke to Camoplast themselves about the different tracks. "The predator will be the best all around track for trail riding, it will handle better in loose snow and hook up just as well as the ripsaw or hack saw on hardpack" these words came right from the mouth of a camoplast rep.

But I've never tried either track out yet, bought 2 1" predators for my sleds this year, will be studding one and not the other. Looking forward to trying them out.

The fact is that the predator is a better all around track, call up camoplast if you refuse to take my word for it. I would put money on the fact that the 1.25" predator will outperform the Ripsaw 1.5" in powder or loose snow. The predator has equal hook up in the hard pack to compared to the ripsaw. The ripsaw will rob more off your topspeed then the predator and both tracks slide in the corners without studs. If you don't want your track to slip or lose traction on corners or for braking, you are going to need to stud either track. Neither track is better then the other when it comes to the corners or icy conditions. This is speaking from lots of experience dealing with these tracks.

I agree to stay away from Kimplex.
 
I belive you 2000srx, but Ive done my reserch though and everyone is telling me that the ripsaw is a really good trail performance track that will keep my sled on the trail without studs. i hear the prediter will slide out alot. so im goin with the ripsaw 1.5 unless i get talked out of it then i will go with the 1.25
 
As I said, it is all preference, if you do not plan on doing alot of off trail riding, the ripsaw will be a better choice for you. When off trail though, the ripsaw has a great tendency to dig a hole rather then push your sled further. It is an unbelieveable track on the hardpack and is a good track. I dont want to get into a debate but will tell you about a personal experience with the Ripsaw in a Viper. Was riding my friends Viper with a Ripsaw and the machine was all over the place in the turns and hook up was not that great. Tried adjusting suspension and still had problems so we studded which made the machine better on the lake and hard packed.
The owner of the machine also prefered the braking with studs....1.25 Ripsaw
 
I did my research before buying a new track and I went with the 1.25 predator track non studded. Not a big fan of the ripsaw cause the lugs are very soft which r prone to tearing. If ya dont believe me ask TopGunnSRX his dads RX1 has 1.25 ripsaw with 3000 miles on it and its tore up pretty bad.
