Painting the pipes again this year and wanted to add color. So I just bought a few cans of the Dupli color "High Heat" paint in red and blue, it's rated to 1200 degree F. Anyone have experience with this particular paint?

It's all about the: :bling:

Derrty_North_Racing put the yellow stuff on his pipes on his sx 700, actually came out nice and held up very well, didnt fade much if at all.

A club member friend of mine has had success with the 1200 degree paint but after spraying he sticks it in a 200-250 degree oven to dry. Seems to help with durability. I've tried the 1200 black and it will burn off the first foot past the cylinders and can go past there if you run lean enough to create the heat.

THe key is curing like it says on the back. I had good luck with it but I put it in my powder coating oven after painting it.

Will powder coating hold up on pipes ? The key to paint is starting the sled on a jackstand and warming the pipes to temp. then cooling off and repeat 3-4 times. Then on first ride do the same after about a mile.
