04 Viper Clutch Set Up???

Anyone have any suggestions on what the best clutch set up is for aggressive trail riding without loosing any top end for the occasional lake race. Right now I am running a stock 04 Viper S.
 
So far I've heard nothin but good responses on Turks set up...53/43(Dalton helix), Green sec Spring(60 twist) or the equal Advant Edge 48/40(advant Edge helix)...
Turk says keep the Primary stock...but you'll hafta check yer RPMs with this setup to
fine tune it...A red spring has also been noted at a 80degree twist aswell...
Just do a search and you'll see some results...Corner to corner is affected greatly with excellent backshift...still unsure if Top speed is affected...

Thanks for the info I don't want to mess with the stock set up if I am going to loose any top end. It sounds like depending on what type of riding you do you may have to sacrafice top end to get a better trail set up and vise versa.
 
Do the 53/43 and green spring. You'll like it. (Cheap mod too.)

My dad's 02 Viper with that setup in it was faster (by about 2 sled lengths) until I put mine in.

I've been happy on the trail and top end with it, at the pump too.

Thanks Great Info. I have never done any clutch work so I will try not to make myself look stupid but what manufacture helix and spring do you recommend or does Yamaha offer alternate helix and spring set ups??
 
Sounds like Turk and SS Viper are happy with the Dalton helix. Maybe I will go with that set up. Thanks again for the tips. I just want so bad to pull away from the F7's#$%&* on the lake. I can stay with them now but need just a few more ponys to pull away. Go Yammi!
 
You'll like it for sure...I've yet to play with my two buddies that ride Zr900's..I don't expect to beet em on an open lake..buuut...I loved rattling them in the twisties with the stock set up...Nothin like seeing them look over there shoulders and your right up there snow flap...Pricless...keeps me grinning from ear to ear...
 
I add the 53/43 dalton with the 60 wrap and really like it. It make the sled much snappier good pull throughout. I add 144 studs and a torque limiter the same year too. I have the best milage or the group: 03 polaris classic 700, skidoo legend 600 and articcat 600 zr. I don't think I lost any topend, I have yet to open it up in a safe trail.
