Looking to get studs for my Apex RTX. what is the difference between the woody's gold diggers, woody's mega bite and the woody's stainless steel? Is one of them better than the others.

Gold diggers have a really large head(good to prevent pullthroughs), and a different head design, which sandwiches and hold the track in its shape when under pressure from the locknut. The megabites are like the stainless studs, which have a regular head design, but the end of the shank is squared, to provide seemingly more grip when biting into the trail. And of course the extra purpose of this is only used if put in the correct dirrectional way, like having the flat side facing the right way. The stainless studs are really close to the design of the gold diggers, but without the pateneted head design. I have used both gold diggers and the SS studs and prefer the SS because they dont rust, otherwise, havent noticed a difference.

The perfect stud would be a cross between the gold digger and SS for the aggresive trial rider. SS is not quite as strong as steel but I havent had one break or bend.

I have had the best luck with the Gold Diggers, I would like to try the SS Woodys, I have had some break....and most others that I have tried, bent or lost the tips.

studs

Thanks for the info guys. I think I will try the ss woodys, with a colored woodys backer. One other question, what size would you use and what number of studs if I was to only put them down the middle and none on the outside?

Thanks again
