If so what do you run and how does it work over stock?

By now means a pro here but I checked into just what you are asking , I talked to a man who builds road coarse cars from mild to wild ,I bought some ignition wires from him & asked about "better coil system" he said in all there dyno work that they really never saw any real improvement, that once burned the fuel is burned! what more can you do with it! ?My 2 cents I showed him my coils he said "looks just like a motorcycle coil"Dave_Vmax600 said:If so what do you run and how does it work over stock?

Once the fuel is burned its burned? One of the benifits to upgrading a ignition system is that ALL the fuel gets burned more efficiently and cleaner for a better combustion which is what you want. The Yamaha Vmax uses a Batch Fire ignition system which means that it fires both spark plugs no matter what the position of the piston in the cylinder. So theoretically you could use 2 MSD coils wireed in parellel to power the sled.
Or you could get this
MSD Snowmobile Ignition

Yes once burned it is burned! I am not going to argue with !not here for that. I said what the guy told me! I do not have fuel running out of my exhaust so I figure it is being burned. And the link has nothing for a Yamaha!Sam88 said:Once the fuel is burned its burned? I don't want to argue, I was just stating something. And to correct my last statement if you run 2 coils in parallel they will get half the amperage, and if you run them in series you get half the voltage, so you should run a MSD 2 tower coil, or a Factory GM coil.
And just because you can't see the fuel doesn't mean its not there
