As far as I know, the kits were all the same no matter who they were purchased from. It would not be easily noticed, but when I installed the kit on my Phazer, I had the gas tank cover/louver assembly (called the instrument panel by Yamaha) off of the sled and the piece that fits under the louvers has a gap at the rear between it and the panel. It does not fit tightly and seal to the panel. When I contacted the seller, they acknowledged that the gap was there.
I seems I remember a snow filter being with my kit, but I never used it. I did not think I needed it and did not want anything to cut down the airflow. Carbs can ice up even with a snow filter. That was ostensibly the reason for the admittance of some warm underhood air. Some of the newer sleds have heated carbs for that reason.
Snakebit- could you post a large picture of your avatar? I dont have the know-how to enlarge it.
Great photo.
It appears there may have been some alcohol involved.
