Cold air kit, air box, and hot air exhaust...

You sir, are a wealth of knowledge! thanks for saving same some duckets; well actually-for now funding some plastic yammie takeoff skis for the sled.

I can only relay information as concerns the Phazer kit. If you look at the third picture, the curved part of the lower duct (the "D" shaped part) fits onto the channel around the stock louver plate and is bolted there. The straight part that goes to the rear does not have any fasteners to hold it up and seal it and does not fit tightly up to the plastic louver plate. It allows underhood air to enter there. It is difficult to see but can be felt if you feel under there. Because of the location it would not easily be noticed when installing the kit. On mine it is wider on one side but I would say averages about a 3/8 inch gap across the width of the duct. I filled that area with silicone sealer.

I do not know if it was a faulty design or if it was intended, but was told that it was supposed to be that way.

Because it is similar, I would guess that the Exciter package also draws in air there.

yeah I was looking at that one... could not figue out where it goesor how it fits. And that is right from Yamaha!!

Hey Vmax540, Did that cold air kit on your Exciter come with the foam in it or is that your invention? Because the one on my Phazer does not have that and I was woundering if I need it?

My phazer intake did not come with foam. Had to add that on mine so it wouldn't fill the airbox full of snow when playing in the soft/deep stuff. That was a long day.
 
I am most likey missing something really oveous but what is a "uni snow pod"? been thinking on that one for a time but can't seem to think what it is.

The kit for my dads 91 Phazer from Bender came without a filter but, my Exciter kit did.....go figure ? It's actually a real course flexible plastic like mesh ! I doubt any rejetting would be needed because you have or don't have a filter ?
