Hi Temp Paint for Exhaust found

I have experienced all of the things mentioned here & from what I have learned, a big part of the "success" is preperation & knowledge.

I currently am doing quad pipes for my Max4 & this time, I am having them done by a professional who has the oven for baking the pipes & the paint according to mfg specs. 1st, bead blasting, then pre heating to get all of the oil residue off of both the inside & outside, then bead blasting again, then pre heat for paint application, 1500 degree paint, then bake in oven for 1-2 hrs, let them cool, then bake again. This is what I have been told is the way to do it, so will see. These guys do this for a living & come highly recommended in my area, so gotta believe they know what they are doing. It is a bit expensive, but, if it holds up as I think it will, then its worth it. I hate the pipes lookin like sh** half way thru the season after spending time cleaning & painting with what ya thought was good stuff. These guys are also doing some powder coating of parts for this sled so will see how it all works out.
Just my 2 cents worth!!

The trick is to keep as much stock paint on & just cover with new hi temp paint!
