hey

just wondering where did you guys mount your powermadd handguards on your handlebars. i am having a little trouble can someone please post of some pics of how you mounted your powermadd handguards to your handlebars?

thanks

I put mine in between the hand grips and the controls. I had to move the controls away from the hand grips, but there was a piece of metal on the handle bar preventing me from moving the controls, so I grinded it off and I was on my merry way.

Cheers.

For a little more money you can order a pair of rox mounts from rich about $55 canadian funds shipped for you power mad handguards. They lokk very sharp and fit better than the powermad mounts. I got a pic from a fellow ty member , take a look. ;)!

OK, kinda same question.
But I have a mountain bar and a left hand throtle?????
Now what are the options for mounting the guards.

Has anyone used the end of the bar mounts?

Venom,

Does your parking brake lever hit the Powermadd hand guard mount? On my 02' Viper, it looks like the only place I can position the mount between the grip and brake block so it clears the parking brake level has the mount pointing to far down???
Thanks, G.B.

So can I still fit my stock SRX cover over my sled if I put handguards on? the handguards look way sharp; especially with the Rox mounts.

Mine just hits the hand guard mount, but it still locks the parking brake.

Cheers.

I have to turn my handguards down and the cover is a VERY snug fit. Put the cover on the nose first and work your way back to the rear of the sled.

I got tired of always unloading and turning up the handguards, then loading and turning down the handguards. The guys were always waiting for me. Within the next month I'm going to build a cover for my trailer out of plywood and some fiberglass.

Cheers.

Thanks Venom,

I decided that I need to install my Rox pivot riser before I see if the Powermadd mounts will or will not work. Looking at them again today, I think they might work if I mount the left one upside down on the inboard side of the brake block.

I know I should have bought the Rox mounts, except I didnt want to spend the money. I bought the Powermadd mounts at the Novi Snowmobile show last weekend for $15.00 OTD.

Thanks, G.B.

Wow...I thought I was the only one having problem with these...I ended up mounting mine just like the pictures...won't be able to work my parking brakes...and had to grind a bit off of the left mount...and arghhh..also tried shaving a bit off of the hand grip/warmer and cut right into the wire inside...arghhh...ohwell...it looks great tho...

SS,

What type of switch block does your 03 have? is it like my 02 or is it the newer one with the rocker high beam switch? I just kept moving my brake and switch block inboard until the parking brake lever just clears the hand guard mount. I can still grab the brake lever with a couple fingers. I suppose worst case, I will wind up adding a longer brake lever. If we ever get snow, I will know for sure.

you need to attach the mounts on the inside of controls and use the treaded rod in kit to move the guard over to cover your hands.same as what they are showing with the rox mounts.heres a pic on my old viper.i used acerbis guards put they are same as powermadd setup.
