Alright I ran yamalube on my stock Viper the last 2 years I had it. Well this year shes getting pipes and I want any added protection I can get. Cause fully synthetic is always better than semi synthetic. I'm just tryin to decide which oil to run cause the Dominator oil is for race or modified use and says it also very good for rec. use. You guys think spending the extra .85 cents/ quart is worth it. Just looking for some opinions on these 2 oils, so lets hear it.

I ran interceptor all last season and I'm very pleased with it. Almost no build up on the power valves. I bought a case of gallons...you get a better price that way.

I would run the Interceptor. I use in my sled and jet skis with 0 problems. Also have reduced smoke.

I was just on AMSOIL website and the only thing that I found to watch out for is long term use on Outboard engines. Everything seems to make sense and be a lil better than Interceptor. Just looking for your reason behind your comment.

Use the Interceptor...
plus the Interceptor has a lower pour point so it will pump(flow) better

NOW IM GONA READ DIRECTLY FROM THE BACK OF THE DOMINATOR BOTTLE.
(NOT SUTIABLE FOR OUTBOARDS,ALTHOUGH EXCELLENT AS A RACE OIL FOR SHORT TERM USE WHERE MOTORS ARE PERIODICALLY INSPECTED).
SOUNDS TO ME LIKE IT IS A LOW FRICTION OIL WITHOUT MUCH PROTECTION.
LOL NOT IN MOTOR. I HAVE RAN INTERCEPTOR IN MY LAST SRX AND HAD NO PROBLEMS. HOPE THIS HELPS, IT HELPED ME DECIDE TO NOT RUN IT IN MY MOTOR I DO NOT LIKE THE WORDING THEY USE.

Dominator:
-Provides excellent film strength for high heat, high RPM motors
-Reduces friction for maximum power
-Recommended for use with coated or non-coated racing pistons
-Recommended for use with exhaust power valves
-Recommended for use with high octane racing gas
-Burns clean to control ring sticking and plug fouling
-Provides excellent protection at 50:1 pre-mix or in injection system
DOMINATOR™, an AMSOIL exclusive formulation, lubricates and protects high performance two-cycle motors, both on and off the track. High performance motors, particularly those that are modified, operate hotter and at higher RPMs than recreational motors, and they need good oil for peak performance. DOMINATOR is engineered for racing. It has the right film strength and clean burning properties for "on the edge" operation.
Super Film Strength
High performance two-cycle motors have high compression ratios, which significantly increase combustion chamber heat and crankshaft bearing pressures. Hot combustion processes quickly burn off and evaporate light oils and cause rapid piston expansion, decreasing piston-to-cylinder wall clearances. This promotes piston scuffing and possible seizure. And increased pressure on crankshaft bearings promotes metal-to-metal contact, wear and pitting.
High heat and pressures require tough oil with better film strength and more lubricity. DOMINATOR, constructed with AMSOIL heavy synthetic oil, handles high heat better than mineral oils and provides improved film strength and lubricity. DOMINATOR reduces friction and provides an extra measure of protection against piston scuffing and crankshaft bearing wear.
Clean Burning
High combustion processes require the proper additives and oils to control deposits. DOMINATOR contains strong, high temperature detergent additives and highly pure AMSOIL synthetic oil. It prevents deposits that cause ring sticking, plug fouling and exhaust port blocking. DOMINATOR is an optimized product for severe service.
Applications (see Two-Cycle Recommendations Chart)
DOMINATOR is recommended for use in high performance stock or modified two-cycle motors, including air or liquid cooled snowmobiles, personal watercraft, motorcycles (Moto X), ATVs, and go-carts. Good for use with coated or non-coated pistons, high-octane racing fuels and exhaust power valves. Compatible with most other two-cycle oils, however, mixing oils should be minimized.
* Not suitable for long-term use in outboard motors as a TC-W3 type oil, although excellent as a race oil for short-term use where motors are periodically inspected.
Interceptor:
-Prevents hard carbon deposits that cause exhaust power valve sticking and ring sticking.
-Superior lubricity controls cylinder, piston and bearing wear.
-Reduces smoke and odor associated with two-cycle engines.
-Prevents plug fouling.
-Provides exceptional SAE #4 cold temperature fluidity (-58°F pour point).
-Versatile and excellent for all types of recreational equipment.
-Protects against rust.
-Prevents pre-detonation from combustion chamber "hot spots."
AMSOIL INTERCEPTOR Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil is formulated with a proprietary blend of the finest synthetic base oils and additives available today. This unique AMSOIL chemistry represents a breakthrough development in the field of two-cycle engine lubrication.
The backbone of AMSOIL INTERCEPTOR 2-Cycle Oil is a specially developed molecularly saturated synthetic base oil. This, combined with a potent additive package, ensures exceptional lubricity, cleanliness and optimum clean-burning characteristics. Extensive research and testing, including a full snowmobiling season in severe Rocky Mountain applications, has proven that wear on cylinders, pistons and bearings is dramatically reduced. And with up to 30 percent more detergency and dispersancy than typical two-cycle oils, AMSOIL INTERCEPTOR virtually eliminates damaging deposits on piston skirts, ring grooves and exhaust power valves.
APPLICATIONS (see Two-Cycle Recommendations Chart)
AMSOIL INTERCEPTOR Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil is recommended as an injector oil or at a 50:1 mix ratio in carbureted, electronic fuel Injected (EFI) and direct fuel injected (DFI) snowmobiles, personal watercraft, motorcycles, ATVs and jet boats, including, but not limited to, those manufactured by Bombardier®, Yamaha®, Arctic Cat®, Polaris®, Kawasaki®, Suzuki® and Honda®.
It is recommended wherever JASO FC or API TC two-cycle oils are specified. INTERCEPTOR is a premium quality replacement for recreational equipment manufacturers' branded two-cycle oils. It is compatible with most mineral and synthetic two-cycle oils, however, for best performance, mixing oils should be minimized.

All that wording is for "OUTBOARD MARINE ENGINES", your talking 2 way diff. motors. If you find the chart that has all the oils listed and you go to the Snowmobile Section you go down to Dominator is says for racing but below that it has a number then you follow the number to the bottom and it says excellent for racing and modified engines. Very good for recreational use. I think your over reading the fine print, doesnt mean I'm gunna run it. But I am goin to look into it more and call AMSOIL on monday just to hear some more feedback. If I was runnng a compelety stock machine I would run the Interceptor over the Dominator just cause what the print says from AMSOIL. But since my viper has been piped and its such a finky motor being piped. I'm willing to spare no expense to keep it running. Thanks for looking out though.

lol what is so diferent about an outboard motor? low it is a low friction oil with not as much protection as the interceptor. what dont u understand there?
srx dreamer

point also proven why I have not heard of anyone on this site using dominator oil maybe someone does for grass drags. but 99.999999% run the interceptor cause its been proven good.

outboard motors never rev very high and spend a great deal of thier life idling.
hopefully thats not how you run your snowmobile.

so thats why u need to take the apart and inspect them reguraly that makes no sence at all.

Whats the diff. well one big one is I dont see 3 huge pipes hanging off the back of a outboard. Normally a 115hp outboard has at least 4 cylinders or more to make up for hp because of that, other are cooling differences, and carbration are all different set up on outboards verus sleds.
And where does it say anywhere in those 2 articles I posted that Dominator will not protect as well as Interceptor.
And one reason you may havent seen people use or talk about the Dominator oil on rec. used machines is cause of the prices between the 2. And most will over look it cause it say racing oil, I run Hondas 100% synthetic "RACING" oil in my CR250 and all I do it trail ride. And has over 3 years on the last rebuild it had.
But when I call tommorow I'm goin to ask about the outboard thing cause I'm curious.

Just one other question have u concidered any other oils? interceptor is good and that is what i run but have heard good thingS about blue marble wich I do no think is synthetic. I heard a guy saying he got 22,000 miles out if his motor with it. Maybe bull but I can not confirm. I aslo hear lots of good things about the klotz oil. Maybe u would want to explore all optinons.

Again that note on the back of the Dominator bottle is for OUTBOARD ENGINES. And if ya ever looked at a outboard motor verus a sled motor they are not the same. But yes I do check my piston every year to check the piston for blow by cause just cause your compression is right doesnt mean your not getting blow by which in all your not gettin your full potentional from the motor. And if your here to be a smart a** and looking to argue please dont post anymore cause this is irrelievent to what I'm looking for.
