Well I called AMSOIL today and they helped finish of my decsion. They said you can run Dominator on trail use but youll see your powervalves will have more build up verus the Interceptor, the pour point is less on the Interceptor which flows better as Daman said, and theres the price which they said the Dominator oil is really over kill for trail use.
Bout using Dominator oil in a outboards, outboards call for a lower ash oil cause most outboards spend the time at a lower RPM which aSRX600guy stated above. This will acutally cause the motor to build more carbon than its regular oil. Oil is only rec. for High RPM appl. like stated in AMSOIL info. Even though alot of outbards are 2 strokes they dont not rev as high as a sled cause there more towards durability lil more than a sled is. Cause like the AMSOILdude said what would you rather do walk in the cold or swim in it. Not a hard decsion for me. Thats the whole reason behind adding cylinders instead of adding huge pipes out the back to create more hp and make it realiable.
But I wanna thank everyone for there opinions inculding you SRX DREAMER.LOL Keep it cool fellas.

No in a SRX you need to use interceptor for the PV's
just run the oil tank low and dump in,that way you get the full benifits of
the intercep right away..

awesome thanks daman ,will change ,my oils..
It maybe like BEAN (castor) oil which, UNLESS YOU KNOW ALL ABOUT IT,, Keep away from... Castor bean oil works wonders with exotic fuels,,,but is a MOTHER****ER to clean up because it turns into SNOTS (like bubblegum) after a short period of time.. It WILL NOT mix with conventional oils and has to be COMPLETELY FLUSHED out with tetrachloroethylene.. which is some WICKED STUFF...Now, I dont know if we are talking about the same oils BUT nevertheless,,, stick with what everyone else uses (EXCEPT YAMALUBE) Yamalube is some downright JUNK and we can even get into the politics of it if it is OK with TOM!!! (gotta watch what i say around here!!!) BIG BROTHER is WATCHING!!! Gary Oles nosboy

This doesn't really apply to the dominator/interceptor debate but I thought it was interesting when I heard it the other day.
When the Coast Guard began running outboards on a lot of their smaller watercraft the engines were wearing out much sooner than they should have been. What was happening was carbon was getting behind the piston rings which were being forced out and scoring the cylinder walls. Supposedly previous (air cooled) motors ran hot enough to burn away the excess carbon but the newer outboards were water cooled and ran cooler. Supposedly thats why TCW-3 2 stroke oil was created, it's a lower carbon (ash, soot, whatever) oil to prevent this.
After seeing how much soot was baked on my powervalves the other day I'm thinking about running a TCW-3 oil this season in hopes that it might help.

Apparently nobody reads my posts... WHY DO people STILL think the OIL controls POWERVALVE CLEANLINESS??? I could write a HUNDRED posts about oil and powervalves and people STILL come up with that STUPID statement... The oil you use has ALMOST ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with how clean your powervalves are!!!! probably about 2 or 3 PERCENT different between brands!!!! I WISH SOMEONE (besides me) would come up with some posts about this subject.. i could tell you how to clean your powervalves without even taking the motor apart.. Would people listen????? PROBABLY NOT!!!!! I write posts after posts and a FEW PEOPLE take it seriously enough to try these "proven methods that work" and most people let it go in one ear and out the other.. Probably how I am on CLUTCHING... You could explain the flyweight tip theory and every other theory and I STILL WON'T GET IT!!!! The people that tell you that they switched oil brands and they noticed an improvement have a WHOLE set of perameters that have changed to achieve the desired effect and they are either NIEVE or not telling you the whole story!!! The guy who wrote the post about the coast guard is on the right track!!!!(SLEDuluth).. Now there is a guy who reads up on this stuff!!!! There is guys on this website that can get into the molecular structures of different lubricants and MESMORIZE 99% of the people who read this!!!! Do they UNDERSTAND or even get it?????? PROBABLY NOT!!!!! ASK A PROFESSIONAL about oils,,, NOT AN AMSOIL SALESMAN!!!!! Naturally he will tell you that HIS STUFF is the best!!! Do you want to buy a case????? OR TWO???? i ve talked with the guy who came up with BLUE MARBLE... For about 20 minutes one time.....You want to talk about someone who knows about oil????? TALK TO THAT GUY.. Do you want to talk to someone who knows about oil??? Talk to the guy with the mustache (big guy) at the KLOTZ display at the snowmobile trade show.. (i think his name is kevin).. now THAT guy will tell you about WHATEVER you want to know about oil!!! I'll tell you about the guy at NOVI (amsoil salesman) that I had a conversation with a few years ago if you call me on the phone...312-617-0303... To make a long story short.. After 1/2 hour, I started calling him out on his CRAP FALSE statements!!! PROVING HIM DEAD WRONG a LOT OF TIMES!!!! Man did I PISSS him off!!!!! it was kinda funny cause I told my S/O/ to watch!!!! She's college educated too!!!! This guy was some dumb hillbilly that thought he had another sucker on the line!!!! he told me things that COULD and WOULD never happen,, will happen to my sled if I bought his oil!!!!! Showed me pictures of situations that were NOT EVEN what goes on in a 2 stroke motor and tried to sell me the farm!!!! NEEDLESS TO SAY,, I DID pay attention in school!!!! we'll talk more... Gary Oles nosboy
I am NOT saying AMSOIL is BAD STUFF.. Quite the contrary... The salesmen (that i have encountered) need to find a NEW LINE OF WORK THOUGH!!!! I talk about the product ENERGY RELEASE... its NOTHING more than Moly Disulfide!!!! the GOVT has been useing it for a HUNDRED YEARS with ASTRONOMICAL results.. A guy comes up with it and markets it in the snowmobile community and in a FEW YEARS he's not around anymore... Was it because MolyDi doesnt work???? NOT AT ALL!!!! It was because these people in the sled market couldn't see beyond their windshield!!!! I can't say I've never seen a bunch of IGNORANT people before,, but THERE AT MY JOB ALSO!!!!! I talked with the guy who pioneered Moly Disulfide and was FLOORED by his KNOWLEDGE (and I thought I was smart)..did it take off?????? NO!!!! So you see,,, i could tell people the BEST WAY POSSIBLE (through a lot of years of PROOF by a lot of people) and they will STILL BUY YAMALUBE!!!!! I don't get it?????? Gary Oles nosboy

Interceptor is for powervalve motors - HP injector is for non-powervalved motors and outboards. Dominator is for your chainsaw.

thanks for all your help and opinions guys
read my post a few weeks ago about LAST YEARS FUEL. it will tell you the BESTEST way to store, fog, and clean out your motor for the following year!!! Thats all you need is a piece of fuel line about 3 feet long a plastic coupling the size of the fuel line hose ( 5/16) and a quart of AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID!!!! Use ringfree or SEAFOAM throughout the winter months (read the can's label) and NEVER have to take your powervalves apart UNTIL YOU RERING.. ( I rering at about 3000 miles) I also did an article on that... click on nosboy and look for the posts!!! Gary Oles nosboy
