2006 Mtn Viper
I bought my viper in Fairbanks. I would not buy anything from that dealership again. They made me feel like I was a bother to them. The only reason I bought it from them was because my viper was the only new one left from Fairbanks to Anchorage. It was a decent price for the Viper ($6999), but that is the last of my money that they will get.

I bought my current ride from Hackers in Houghton Lake, Mi.It was a good experience, the sled has been exactly what I expected and no problems.Supposedely the owners daughters sled very clean and well maintained with alot of Canadian miles.I have bought most of my rides from dealers over the years, but would not be opposed to dealing with a private party. It just seems by default I guess that dealers have had what I was after.

I found my sled 2 years ago sapposedly "trail ready" from a piece of crap dealership in Houlton, Maine call ed HOULTON POWER SPORTS who are a arctic cat dealer and first 20 miles i started fouling plugs and backfiring like crazy then the sled just died and i got a pull back. All they could say is I must have cold seized it when that rediculous because i let my sleds warm up for 5 mins always. Wanna guess as to if they helped me. I tried to take them to court but because the incident happened in their county I would have had to drive 6 hours to the courthouse. On a good note i have a lawyer friend who sent them a letter for me and I later got one from their lawyer stateing I signed the "as is where is form" So it did end up costing them a few bucks. $1200 bucks later and I now know what a 700 is supposed to feel like. Ive since put about 2000 miles on that moter.

All my sleds that I've purchased have all been under 900 bucks, so I went in with the knowledge that work was needed.
Easier to put money into new parts and having fun wrenching than buying something much more expensive and not knowing what will go wrong when i pull it off the trailer.

i bought my viper wrecked last summer my buddy had hit a deer with it and had no insurance on it it was a 2002 viper er with 1600 miles i bought it from him for $1600 and bought a new hood, windshield, powervalve servo, exhaust system fairings, gauge pod, airbox, throttle, key switch, front bumper and right side bellypan for it and had 2300 in it when i was done it was red but i bought a blue hood and sold my red seat and ski loops for the same price i bought blue ones for it now has 2300 miles and looks awesome my only sled before this one was a 1999 cat zl500 that i bought used and abused for $600 i had to pretty much replace all the belts and wheels and everything in the rear skid and put a new track in but i had $900 in it wjen i was done and it had 3000 miles i rode it for two years and sold it for $1650 when it had 3600 miles on it and that;s the money i bought my viper with and the guy who bought my sled
completely tricked it out he put a newer zr hood and seat on it and light covers, running board grips, skidplate, pipes, snowflap, skis everything on it but he clutched wrong and blew it up so it has all new pistons and everything now and he was trying to resell it so overall i have had a pretty good used sled expirience i also bought a wrecked 02 viper for $800 and i parted it out and pretty much trippled or quadrupled my money on it and still have a bunch of parts left

I got both of mine from friends (or a relative of a friend), with 200 miles on one and 400 on the other. They were both in like new shape and I paid way less than blue book for both... So, very happy 5 years in!

I bought my 2002 Viper from a dealer in Northern Wisconsin 3 years ago. got a great deal and not issues till last season. The fuel sending unit went out. Took it back there and they fixed it right up for me. Great guys at that shop. I can go in and ask questions on how to do things and they tell me and are up front about it. I will continue to buy from them.
