There is only one thing that bugs me the most when driving my vmax. After a weekend of riding my hands hurt from all the friction against my grips. It is ok when it is colder but given a warm day of riding my hands can be red and raw. My grips are stock. They are the hard rubber type with horizontal raised lines and a few raised rings. I might not have know how much nicer the newer Yamaha grips were if I did not have a '02 Viper in the family. The ones on the Viper are a soft rubber without the raised lines that are on mine.
Mine do still work well but bug me. Ya I know that there are aftermarket warmers available but is it possible to put on a set of the OEM ones from other newer Yamaha sleds? I don't know if there is a different resistance/wattage value on the '97 grips compaired newer grips. I still want all the same variable heat selection and thumb warmer as well as not too much hacking of the wireing.
