I have a 96 600xt. I don't know for sure which clutch it has. I'll post photos tomorrow. I don't think it's stock because I think that the previous owner had mentioned something about putting on a 95 model clutch instead of rebuilding it. I rebuilt it once, but since I have everything out and want it all right, I might as well look into the clutch. Should I have the YXR?

I will check mine. I put a 96 600 XT secondary on my 94 Vmax 600 ST and need to take some pics of it anyway. I will post some pics of everything.

That is the number that will tell you which clutch it is....8AB, 8AC...etc. Clean it so you can read that entire #. It is definately a YXR type though.

Thanks! Looks like 8BV. I don't know what that means...but that's what it reads....

8BV is a start, you still need the complete Part# though. It should look something like this. "8BV-17620-01-00". This happens to be the part #, from the Yamaha website, for the complete primary sliding sheave for a 96 XT. Check it out.

I'm not looking for clutching. I've already got it set up. I just wanted to make sure I was getting the correct bushings, etc. I've even recommended that you start with those setting in a PM.
