I switched to Amsoil interceptor last year, but I changed the chaincase oil and put stock Yamalube oil in the Viper. What chaincase oil do you use? Thanks.

Nope I was just there today to order parts and buy brake fluid, they dont carry any amsoil stuff. Ill be placing a order for a box of Interceptor oil, I can help ya out if ya want.

ATF, type "f" works great, high detergent and cost hardly nothin, I have used this for 15 years and never once have had a problem. They use atf in all stick shift transmissions anymore as well in cars so the typical excuse of film strength and sheer resistance doesnt apply, as a gear to gear is more friction then a chain to gear contact. It works!!

Where do you live. I have a few bottles of the Amsoil Series 2000 Chaincase oil I can sell at dealer cost. I also have a few tubes of the water resistant grease I can sell at cost.

viper7mile,

The Auto Value store on M59 approx 5 miles east of US23 stocks the complete Amsoil product line along with Yamaha Lube, Polaris, and Ski Doo oil.

I heard from a friend that the auto parts store right next to MRJ theatre in Waterford also on M59 at Williams Lake Rd. also carries Amsoil. Sorry, I cannot remember what the name of this store is.

Kennsington Motor Sports in New Hudson also carries Amsoil products.

You mean Stub's in Highland? I used to live right down the road from there. I was in there last weekend. My in-laws are just around the corner from there.

dnale,

Yeah that's it. However, I don't think it is called Stubs anymore. Not too long after they moved into the old Peter's True Value building, it changed to a Auto Value store.

If I remember right, the Amsoil 2000 was a $1.00 cheaper at this store than what I paid for it at Kennsington Motor Sports last year.
