Tony, I was just on ebay the highest one I could find was $84,000, thats $166,000 short??? btw- theres a $80,000 "buy it now" is a crossram 302 car, but the current bid is at $34,000???
I dont doubt they can bring some large coin, but $250,000 is a little steep for that car yet on any kind of average. I have seen Barret Jackson bring well over $100,000 for 69 RS/SS convertables.
I have not seen the price on a 69 zl-1 (factory alum block and all 427 car) I believe thats the rarest of em all isnt it???
The whole thing I am trying to say is ebay will drive the price up on things, great if your the seller. If you for say had a perfectly restored 69 z-28, youd be hard pressed to sell that car in your local auto/muscle car trader or even in a high traffic town/busy street for anything near what you can sell it for on Ebay, or a Barret jackson kind of auction.

getting back to the sleds, what models do you think will be worth the most money in the future?
I see the srx440's in general have gone way up for a nice clean one. I am still partial to the ol 81srx,...lol!! heck, they were junk when new, and so many were taken back on the trade in program and destroyed. Only sled I know of that had as many factory service bulletins as a firecat!!
what about the snow twisters and the rear engine manta racers??
I know I saw one of them king kat 4cyl early a/c sleds bring crazy money on ebay a while back, I dont remember the numbers but I had to take like 3 looks at it to believe it! anybody see it?

The 1969 Zl-1 Camaro Was Built To Meet Nhra Stock Class Racing. 50 Needed To Be Built, I Believe Chevrolet Built 69 Of Them. This Car Was Made To Compete With The 1969 Factory Hemi Dart. My Guess Its A Million Dollar Car. I Have Pictures Of The One My Brother In Law Drove Home From Gmi In 1969 When He Was In College To Be A Engineer. He Turned It In At The Closest Cherolet Dealership When He Go Back. Funny, They Took Picture Of Window Sticker On This Car, I Believe It Was $7000!! Alot Of Money In 69. Don, You Can Watch E Bay, Barret Jackson Or Whatever, The Sky Is The Limit For What Somebody Will Pay. The Baby Boomers Who Bought These Cars New Are Now At Retirement Age And What Better Investment. Sleds Will Never Go For That Price, But I See A Ssr For $14,000, A 1982 Srx 500 For $30,000 , And Many 77 Srx For $10,000.
Tony,
I have been talking to a lot of people about the old race sleds and sno pros. I think your going to see a big increase in $$$ on these sleds in the futher. The trail muscle sleds will keep going up, but not like the race sleds. The SSR's are already gone past $18500. Just wait another five years. They only made 100 of them. Atleast I'm in a sport now that the stuff keeps increasing in value. Feels good. Better keep your vintage sleds. I know I am. Dean-o

Dont you guys think, that after time the vintage sleds will get passed back to uys that owned the same sled somtime before because the production ###'s are low and just be passed back and forth like ultra rare cars do.
Everyone wants to clone these things. That will even bring more $$$$ for the original. Skys the limit and the way everything else keeps going up and up, just helps even more. I'm keeping my stuff until I'm ready to die. Dean-o

I have a magazine someplace that says that there were around 150 SSR's made. 50 went to canada and the rest went to the states.

Well. If I might add; I was told 150 units were built and enough parts for 50 more. 50 to Canada, 100 to US and 50 for the parts bins/race support. I don't know if anybody can verify this but it is the story I have the most faith in. Mine is #17. I have turned down some pretty strong offers. I hope your speculation is right and they keep going higher. I may be able to sell it and buy a nice car some day.
Any thoughts about the SRX500 from ´82? I know Jon Bertolino has atleat 2 now.
I saw one last year here at Finland. Pretty little sled.

I know of 6 verified SSR's over here in sweden. Someone claimed that the original number that came to sweden was 8 to start with. I don't know about that but I allways keep one eye open looking, just in case...
EDIT: One of these sleds has no. 8HO-000241. That should indicate atleast 241 built, given that the counting starts at #1...?

SSR's start with the Vin# 000101. That sled would be the 141's made.

There are 9 or 10 1982 SRX 500's floating around. I have 2 of them. the tenth one is not verified yet the guy wont give a clear pic of the vin. One of mine is complete running numbers matching. ant the other is a engine, tunnel and a few odds and ends. I will get it put together someday. As for the price of sleds what do you guys think my 1975 PDC sled would go for on E-bay. I own Wayne Trapps 1975 PDC 338 liquid GPX fully restored mint. The only thing repoed on it is the gas tank, and decals.
Not my sleds, but yes these guy's is doing a great job with a rough material to start with.94max said:Yamaton, very cool web site. Great job on repairing the SSR's
