I have 98 sx 700. I am looking to upgrade the suspension. I am see a lot of 2002 viper suspension parts for sale. Is there a problem with the 2002 suspension? I read somewhere that the rear shocks are not rebuildable? Would a newer Yamaha skid fit this sled, if so, which ones? Would a 2003 RX1 fit it and would it be better than a 2002 Viper? What other options are there for upgrades?
I have a 2002 Viper front suspension on its way.

the viper suspensions are great with revalved rear shocks, as the stock shock settings on the standard 02 vipers were very stiff and caused a harsh ride. With a revalve they ride great, and they ARE rebuildable on the 02 and 03 vipers, it is the 04 Viper S that has non-rebuildable steel-bodied shocks.

Who is good for setting up these shocks? I know maximum performance did shock work on the yamahas, but I hear that they are no longer with us. Would you know what is a good set up for these shocks?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Bruce Schrader at pioneer performance is the one that did all the set up for maxx's suspension set ups, and he is awesome. Send them to him and he will get you set up. Website is pioneerperformance.net
