Where to ride?

Me and a few friends usually go to Cooke City and we are thinking about trying somewhere else this winter but we are wondering what the best options might be? We all enjoy the deep snow and boondocking. We are all experienced riders and do not want to go somewhere that the conditions are to easy. We have had many good experiences at Cooke and find it very fun but we are just looking to expand sometime. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Any comments on the snowies?
 
McCall Id is one of my favorite places to go! They have something for everyone. We all like to boondock, so what we do, is go up the trail for 15 miles or so. Then just start boondocking/climbing over to the next play areas untill we get low on fuel. If everyone still has enough fuel we'll boondock our way back. If we're really low on fuel, we'll just head down the valley to the trail to get back.
Spray25 over on the 4 stroke forum is hosting the 4th McCall TY ride this year Feb 16th- 18th. I'll be there again this year. Good times and good people to ride with!
 
Steamboat Springs CO, out by Steamboat lake can be fantastic. Snowies are always great, but stay in Saratoga and ride from the west side of pass, less people, great hot springs (free) and the WOLF INN, four star food, 100 year old rooms. Ride Revelstoke

If you like to travel, check out Revelstoke BC Canada. Valemount BC is also a favorite. Have a great winter.
 
I agree valemont and revlestoke are top of the line thats where I plan to ride this winter living in northern alberta kind bites cause its to flat but its only 4 hours away and revelstoke is only 6 so it makes for a good weekend trip.
 
The Gallatin's can be very good riding. There is a motel south of Bozeman on the highway to w'Yellowstone called the Corral. It is the trailhead to a riding area called Buck Creek by the locals. The riding is more wide open than Cooke but lots of it. There are 4 areas in Buck Creek, 1, 2, 3 yellow mules and the Muddy. Its well labeled. Food and fuel at the motel. I am going to be there more than Cooke this year. Also Mnt. Jefferson in Idaho is like Cooke times 10. Continue past West Yellowstone towards Idaho Falls and stay on the far side of Henry's Lake. There is about 10 miles of trail to ride to get to the high country. You will need scratchers. High country riding is spectacular. As steep and deep goes, its as challenging as Revy. Not very well marked so take a GPS. Hope this helps you.
