I am looking at a VMAX600 1994 for my kids.
I dont know much about the older Yamaha's. Looking for some input...reliable, HP, problems, good points. Thanks.

wow, a 600 for kids?? Might be a little much....those 600's really move!

My buddy has one, and has over 13,000KM on it, with really no problems....just normal maintenance

Hey, Its a YAMMY!!!

my bud has the 600 vmax 2 place...really good and reliable machine...he has close to 30 000ks and shes still going...has electric start and reverse...this sled never let him down...i also used to have a vmax 600 and i was very impressed with it...as a first sled it was fast enough for me...

I have a 94 V-max 500ST. I think its the same chassis as the 600. Except a longer track. Very reliable and stable machine, except over uneven bumps, the front shocks are stiff and will throw you side to side if your not carefull, But it corners great, never lifts a ski. It is a bit front heavy, may be hard to steer for kids. My 500 does 90 mph, At that speed its so rough every thing is a blur. The 600 is probably faster.

V-Maxx

I have a 97 V-Maxx XTC and enjoy it. I blew the motor late last winter due to oil pump failure and a complete rebuild and pump did"nt hurt too bad. They have a darting issue which can be pretty well dealt with which I did"nt bother because the deeper the base the better it gets. Also I get around 12-14mpg which is okay for the fun I get out of it. Do a compression test and you"ll see if it"s worth it or not.

had a close look at the machine...wow great shape.
The only problem is the track may not last another season. Seat was recovered, all new bushing and bearings in the skid, both clutches rebuilt.
Checked compression both cylinders show 115 but I was using his gauge and he said it was off. It has some originality with the top of the seat covers in Yamaha blue and the sides are black, a blue belly pan, blue ski skins and blue sliders which looks good with the black.
