Just bought this a couple hrs ago, it has 3200miles. Im very happy, love the styling and the gauges, now for some pipes,

Not to bash the thread but diff not a 02 plastic, stickers and seat tell me right off the bat its not a 02. Unless all those things were added to it.
 
What does the sticker say on the Right side of the tunnel. Mine reads 8/01. I dont know how they do stuff in Canada with titles but if you have a title or something that has the VIN# I'd go out and check it VIN# should be stamped into the tunnel incuding a sticker with it on it also, if everything checks out right. Then I just call the guy you bought it from so see if he mades changed the Hood, Stickers and Seat if he didnt say anything bout it before. Cause one thing In noticed bout the seat is a 02 is all smooth unlike yours has angled rowed stiches in it. Something just seems goofy.
 
ya im gona check the vins, my owner ship does say yamaha 2002 and under colour it sex black. Maybe there was a colour diff in canada. If it was changed thats alot of stuff, seat, hood decals, idlers are balck and silver also
 
im not sure on how to check the vin here is my vin# JYE8EK0002A005948

If anybody can get anything from that it would be awsome starting to panic, what if dash was changed and milage dosnt match,the thing thats wierd is the guy who had it befor edidnt even no what a ratchet was and there is dealer stickers on the hood from where he bought it, maybe they did some messing around.
 
No what I was saying to do with the VIN# was to check your sled and title to make sure those 2 match, if they dont you may have a problem. There was no lil white sticker on the ride side of the tunnel with manuf. date on it???? If you find anything that reads manf. in late of 02 than it'll be a 03 titled machine.
 
the controls are all on the dash, and all the vin numbers are the same from owners to tunnel all say 2002, if it was changed it must of cost alot but hey i like black much better, so its original

checked they match and the manufacture sticer i think said 01-07.

maybe things are different in canada :dunno:, the hood also has an 05 trail pass and there are 3 othere under it but i cant pull them apart
 
The 10th digit in the VIN# is the year designation. It is a 2002. Must have had some changes from the previous owner to get the black scheme.

I think the seat and hood were added on . Looks like my friends 2004 viper.
