Do I need a rear heat exchange cooler on a stock 03 Viper?

I have a 03 viper, studed and 53/43 clutched. Do I need the rear cool? I plan on leaving the engine stock, no pipes. Thanks for the information. What is the benifits and what else do I need...protectors if I do add it.

Is the rear heat exchange used only when you have pipes or motor mods?

It'll come in handy when riding on minumal snow condtions or flyin down lakes that r mainly ice and no snow. Snow=COOLING I wish I did this before hand cause I like added protection. But for the $75-$100 bucks I'd do it.

yeah they say you need it with pipes, probably wouldn't need it on a stock motor..the vipers cool them self fine stock..but like expert said if riding in minimal snow conditions it wouldn't hurt any

6000 miles on my 02 w/out a rear cooler. no problems, but i don't have any motor work done, engine is stock. even after stretchin her to 136 it still cools fine. and i run it in minimal snow conditions often (only snow we have around here is minimal ) with out any problems. maybe i'm just lucky

Like posted above its not necessary on a stock machine. But most people like added insurance for the price of one. Plus why did they throw em on the Viper S in 04, It wasnt there for the 1.25 track, I think it was installed to stop the DCS from coming on.
