Yes lets see, I'm just about to put my edge in the RX1. Post some details on how you measured for your holes. I got a way that may make it real easy. Thanks!

You had david come over and work on that thing? uh oh.....lol Post up some pics of that bad boy now.
Kinger, I made a template on autocad with the mesurement I got from this site, I think the mesurements came from JBshocks. Then I transfered those mesurements to construction paper. We then lined up the templete up with the drive shaft and the top of the tunnel. Then we used masking tape on the inside of the tunnel to do all the marking with pencil. Then we used the old holes as reference points and did a bunch of doube checking of mesurement before we drilled. I only had to move the front brackets. It wasn't to bad of a job. If you have any more questions just ask.

Did you re-drill out the rear bracket or use the existing hole?
I was going to do the same thing I made a template out of construction paper, then I mounted the template to the edge skid before it went it and to make sure the hole spacing was perfect. I first put the rear bolt through the template into the skid while it was sitting on my bench perfectly level, then used a level and leveled the template and put the front bolt in. It was very close to the dimensions listed on the jbshocks site.
I think my template is now correct and I just need to actually get in there and drill the holes.
One question is why are you using the old holes as a reference for where the new holes go? Do you mean just the back one?
Thanks, can't wait!
PS What shock did you get with your skid? I got the Fox PPS2 which I think is going to be so nice with the variable valving built in.

Kinger, I did not have to remove the rear bracket, I just put the new holes in the old bracket. We used the old holes just to check are mesurements to the new hole so that both new holes were even to each other and that everything lined up. Its just another point to make sure that the new holes are in the right locations. The shock I have is the PS3. I got the skid out of an 05 and it just so happened to be the black and silver one, I just got lucky and it looks great.

Is the edge skid is the same width as the yamaha or did you have to mod the swing arms?
I'd like to see pics too!!!

it was a team effort popping those yammie rivets! lol! i got the first one after a few of us gave it a try and then a pipe was used for leverage and snapped the handle on the rivet gun on the second one.yamaholic22 said:You had david come over and work on that thing? uh oh.....lol Post up some pics of that bad boy now.

the width is within a 1/16" so no issue there. to put the edge in a proaction chassis it needs to be moved back a 1/2" or else the front bolts will be in a bad spot.SRX MAINE said:Is the edge skid is the same width as the yamaha or did you have to mod the swing arms?

Ah, I see, You borrowed the stock shock mount and moved it forward to use for the front swing arm...Good Idea!
What did you use in the inner tunnel on the rear mount?

Ahh crap my RX1 rear drop down bracket is metal and hangs beneath the tunnel cooler, so I don't think I'll be able to re-use mine. Looks like a little more work for a RX. Also the 217mm measurement seems correct for the RX, there is no intereference in the front foot well.
Thanks for the pictures, I'll take some of mine when its done as well. IN the meantime here are some from a guy close to me that put a edge in a RX1, see the difference?

the stock rear plate is in the correct place for the edge, you just need to drill a new hole. make sure to drill from the inside out.SRX MAINE said:Ah, I see, You borrowed the stock shock mount and moved it forward to use for the front swing arm...Good Idea!

Srxmain, we used the stock rear bracket and we didn't even have to move it. All we did was drill a new hole.
