Just curious and always looking.Found a 2002 Viper 700 with 1600 miles.Digital dash, picked track, triple pipes,Bender clutch,Boyseen Reeds,Rear heat exchanger. Owner wants $5500 for it. This is in Canadian dollars. Is this a fair price for what it has and or is price high? :dunno:

well they go for about $5000 around hear bone stock, dealer black book sez my 02 with 6000km is worth $3800, i just paid $4200 so im happy. The cheapest rx-1 I could find with in 4 hrs from ottawa was $5800 with 7000miles.

These are canadian prices we get ripped off for example a new attack goes for about $15000, prices dont reflect the exchange they reflect the market. Even canadian club wiskey is cheaper to buy in the states after it has been imported. dumb.

That is about right for around here as well. Snowmobiles in this part of the country go for big $$$. You can check Autotrader.ca for some price comparisons just to be sure.

I just baught a 04 Viper S with 3300kms at a dealer in Winnipeg MB for $6600.00. Its all stock and in mint condition. I would say that 02 with all the mods should be worth $5500.00 if its clean and well taken care of.

Thats US dollers plus shipping, taxes, duty. And then it has to have a government inspection before it can be registered here in Manitoba. I'm not sure about other provinces though. I have a freind that brings sleds in from the states to re sell. Unless its a really good deal its usually not worth it.

Thats a good price considering all the extras and the milage is very low for a canadian sled.
I see Viper 2002's with 10000 miles + in Quebec going for about $4800 bone stock.
Of course the dealer would only give me $2500 last year for my sled with only 2500 miles on her. And then he would resell it for $5500.

I wouldnt pay more for a sled with motor mods. could be problematic, how do you know how it was treated or if the mods were even installed correctly? but thats me, rather do it myself and know what was done :)

Hey blue, I think the price is just a little on the high side. Try and get him closer to the 5k range, say 5100 - 5200 tops.

In Ottawa, I just paid $4800 for an 03 Viper with the following: 5000km, reverse, bender clutch kit , 96 picks, rear heat exchanger (w/ protectors), torque limiter, blue med windshield, and some custom LEDs. Dealer also threw in a new set of slides and preped it for winter (eventually he did anyway, long story).

Keep in mind that was dealer price, if mine would have been private I would have said it was too high. As someone else said (ViperGuy), I'm not too keen on paying more for mods either. Never know if they were done right and usually means it was driven hard. I like to save the sled bashing for myself.

That's my 2 cents.

Hey justaviper.Maybe your friend can scout an SRX for me in the future. Like a 2001 and ship it to Canada for me.I live soth of the city, between St.Norbert and St.Adolph.

let me start off by saying " I don't know the canadian market" but 2002 vipers with 1000-1500 miles are around 2500.00. WATCH EBAY and you will see what the market is ( I do!!!) As far as buying a sled with engine mods, PERSONALLY I would keep away from that... Providing you want a trail sled and NOT a race sled, you may be buying someone elses problems.. Studded track and suspension mods are relatively safe compared to engine mods,,, lets say you buy a sled that was setup in central wisconsin... engine modded and jetted for lets say 10 degrees and 600ft elevation... You bring it to somewhere where it is 20 below and 6000 ft elevation... YOU WILL DESTROY that motor in no time!!!! Yamaha jets a STOCK SLED to run its best at around tem below zero!!! if its 20 above outside, that sled is running WAY RICH!!!! Nothing you can do about that!!!! In a way, it's a good thing,, enviornmentally, its NOT!!! KEEP with a stock trail sled if you are in the market for a trail sled.... watch e bay,,,, good luck!!! Gary Oles nosboy

nosboy, I agree completely :) my neighbor bought a sled from out west and we are in NH. obviously needs some stuff changed, he was just smart enough NOT to try it before having it all taken apart and redone for here. and buying someone elses problems (like you said) is EXACTLY what I am afraid of with engine modded sleds!
