any tips before I put the sled back together?

I bought a 98 SRX 600 this summer with a broken W-arm, so I took the sled apart last night to weld that up and replace the track. I'm replacing the driveshaft bearings and I need to replace one of the shocks that got jacked when the W-arm broke.
I figured I would just hop on here and see if some experienced SRX owners had some suggestions while I have it all apart.
I was toying with putting reverse in but being that it's a 98 I think I would have to replace my existing gears and I'm kind of on a budget. I'm Also thinking of putting a different rear suspension in (viper?) if I could find a deal.

So any advice would be great, and if anyone has a track in good shape (not studded), a w-arm, a shock, etc. let me know.

Even if you just long travel the rear suspension, it makes a world of difference in the ride, as far as comfort is concerned. You can either long travel your current stuff or just find a Viper skid. You needed a w-arm and a shock as it was. Save your old skid for parts. If you don't long travel the front, you can get drop down brackets for the front shocks so that your track sits flat. Otherwise it will sit up a bit in the back.

I had a 98 SRX 600. Great sled but the stock rear suspension wasn't fun until I long-traveled it.
 
You could put a Bender Re-Action skid in it. I beleive you use the stock rails and everything else is new. I could be wrong.
 
good one viper ar eyou going throgh the entire skid if you chose to run it. nows the time to replace slides ideler wheels and such.

thanks for the suggestions guys, I'm going parts shopping today to see what I can find in my area... I should really just live with it for awhile (at least until after christmas) on the stock suspension for budget's sake if I can put it back together for cheap. In addition to what I said I was going to do above, I cleaned the power valves, (didn't test/adjust yet) and took the carbs off and cleaned them. The valves were filthy but the carbs looked like they were brand new. I think I'm good as far as post-purchase/pre-ride maintenance goes for now unless I missed something.
