Carb needle tool?

no you dont have to take the carbs off to adjust the needles. that tool is for removing the allen screws holding the throttle pivot to the top of the slides. it is a ball end long reach screwdriver type tool of sorts. gives you easy access to the needle.

pull carb tops off, open throttle to bring slides up to the top, remove two allen screws, slide falls down in carb, remove pivot carefully remembering which is front and rear (will only go into top of carb slide one way).

you can see the top of the needle in the top of the slide. look for 2 (count them) 2, thin plastic washers (spacers) and mark where they were, sometimes they are both on top, both on bottom or one above and one below. this shims the needle for finer tuning in 1/4 to 1/2 step intervals.

we found a trick with the dirt bikes that works really well with the sleds too. a piece of wire with a thin rubber tube glued to it, tight enough to pick up the needle helps alot for removing the needle from the slide. insert the tube to the top of the needle and pull out the needle.

note where the clip is, make your adjustment, clip higher leans it circut, clip lower richens the circut. reassemble in reverse. no need to use the wire and hose trick for install, the needle drops into the hole. i'll post some picks of the tool. ski

pics of tool, needle ect... you'll get the idea. ski
