Well last year i put Viper front shocks on my SRX. I also used longer radius and steering rods to increase ski stance to 42". I ended up pressing the clevis mount in enough to fit inside the SRX's mount and added nylon washers and an aluminum spacer. Worked ok, took the bumps great but front height was an issue. So this year i got the guy on ebay that makes mounts to raise the front of an SRX to make me a set to lower the sled by 1" i also welded eye mounts on to viper shocks giving me another 3/4" drop. More pics of shocks on sled to follow...............James

dude, in 2 weeks i will have brackets to bolt them directly to your srx with no other mods. be careful what you waite for.

If its just a bracket you will still run into the problem of the bolt on top making the round hole on both the bracket and the clevis mount oval. After only one year and 1300 miles it was very obivous on my original set up................James

Were you running the front shock spring preload really tight to raise the sled?
my brackets have the bushings in them so they bolt directly, i made a couple sets many years ago. they worked great and these use far better bushings and are powdercoated.

My findings have been the viper shocks work very good in the rear of the sled. But on the front to get a level ride hieght the taller spindles on the viper trailing arms are needed or else the front end will sit lower than the rear. Not a bad thing for trail riding but for boondocking you want more hieght so the springs git wound up more causing a siffer ride and will pound the bejesus out of those brackets.I am putting the ohins back on and flipping the brackets and will probably be the same hieght i am running now.

I tried putting the viper front shocks in my SRX this weekend. I got them in, but there was only about an inch of inner shock showing(read: I'd be going from like 4" of travel to 1"). Ended up just putting my SRX shocks back in.
Keep me posted on how the brackets come along....and what's required to run the viper shocks on the SRX. I'm interested.

Any news on the brackets? I could really use a set, and i'd rather go through you than the guy on eBay.
