i heard of a guy around here that was running cat oil in his viper last year could this do any damage to the sled or is it okay

I would say no,,but why when yamalube is fine or a good full synthetic..

i think he was almost out of oil and could only get cat right then

APV is made for powervalves, I can't see why it would hurt anything.

whats apv ?
Wont cause any probs at all, during our saddle bag trips there was quite a few occasions that my oil of choice was not available, so my sleds have run on Cat oil as well as a few Polaris VES occasions. Of course I was teasin my Cat buddy that my sled fealt slow and prone to breakdown once my sled was affiliated with Cat products LOL.

should be no problems. read in snowtech that they find the doo oil to be real clean burning and high quality
