I removed and completely disassembled my whole skid and found that most of my plastic bushings need replacing. Is there a better place to get them other than the dealer? does anyone sell a kit that has all of them? it looks like it would be about $100 for a bunch of plastic from the dealer and I would like to spend less than that.

Pionneer Performance sells a kit made from a material called nylatron which is supposed to be very hard and self lubricating.I have his kit in my front end and it seems nice, but have not ran it yet so I cannot comment on the quality, but I expect them to be just as good if not better than oem.He has a website withhis stuff and good prices as well.

Nikemann,
you and me both.....my skid is in the same condition, I was planning on making a trip to the dealer today.
I also wondered about this, but haven't been able to find a complete kit for less money.
I think i saw one at CB performance, but it was also $100

Oh and I noticed it's not just the plastic that wears, the metal collars can also wear, so that the bolts have lots of play in the collar. I'm replacing some of those as well.
The kits mentioned above are only for the bushings, so you still may need buy some parts from the dealer.

See info posted in the Tech Pages on this.
I'm not seeing it in the tech pages, what are we looking for?

Just figure out what ya need and head to your dealer
Wow, the Tech pages are getting a bit cluttered and need some organization.
I did find some of the info I was referring to, but the post containing the majority of it is not there. Maybe it was simply a post on one of the forums, or maybe it has been removed somehow. I will do some more checking.

Here is one post that is somewhat related . . .

thanks ding. that skid fix is alot to read through. gets kind of confusing since i dont have the skid sitting next to me.
well...pioneer doesnt have any for my year from what I could see, and I dont want to spend $100 right now. I found some nylatron at my shop and I'm just going to try to make some new bushings on the lathe. I made one today and it took a while, but I got plenty of spare time now that I'm single. so it looks like I'll be making them. and since i'm making them, no need to shim, they'll be tight right away.

Is there really that large of a market for them? if there is, I'll mass produce them. I have a CNC lathe with bar feed and I could spit them out fast. I work at a machine shop that my dad owns and I could make pretty much anything out of metal or plastic.
I'm thinking that if i made a whole kit, i could make them shipped for $55 out of nylatron. is that a fair price? i can start taking orders...although...they will take a bit to get enough to sell and I'll want at least one person to test them out to make sure they work for other people.
and no, i dont take visa. but i take paypal and paypal takes visa!
any other stuff you want me to take a shot at making?

There is a shaft that must weigh 10 Lbs that the upper transfer rod wheels go on.How about making some of those out of 7075 billet aluminum. And yes I would like a set of bushings.
