mach z carbs on a viper

Any body tryed mach z carbs on a viper? Do you have to run a mach fuel pump or dose the stock one flow enough? and how dose the oil injection differ. I got a 900 big bore viper and I know the 33's are to small and I'm not even going to bother with boring them to 35's IMO not a sugnificant gain for the money to bore. I know a couple people on here have done it .Any addvice would be great.

The stock pump flows more than enough for the 38's. On mine I thew on some larger fuel lines, however. You can even squeeze them onto the stock boots on the motor side....but they are tight. Larger boots are required on the airbox side, or run filters.

Carb boot porting

Guys I dont think the stock Viper boots will work because they limit CFM. I run bored carbs and I had to grind the boots larger to benifit the oversize carb boring. I don't think you could port stock boots to 38mm. What do you think?

Phazer boots may work, but haven't tried. Just a suggestion. also they have a spot for a boost bottle built in

Thanks guys. I know haucks boost bottle kit for the srx uses 600 twin intake boots, and he says you just have to run a shim under the carb side engine mounts to correct the angle. thease boote are for 36mm carbs so shouldnt be such a tight squeze for the 38's and there is more rubber to open them up in side. the carbs I'm looking at are off a 96 machz. I know it woud not be the same but what jetting are you guys running? I am at about 1300 ft elevation [Minnisota]. just to get a base line . Thanks agin

I ran my 38's on a big bore SRX, so my jetting won't help you. The stock boots flow enough....it's just a pain in the *** to mount the carbs. Boots off of a Phazer would work a bit better because they have a better angle.

My jetting was 45 pilots, stock needles, middle clip from a '98 Mach Z, and mains were staggered at 320-330-340, and 330-340-350. The shelving in the airbox was removed completely, and the dividers. I ran stock pipes, and stock reeds. V-Force 3's are too much of a pain in the ***, and are only required when you get up around 175hp or so.
