Anyone know if the rear long travel Kayaba shocks out of a Viper will fit in the SX600R skid? If so what needs to be done to make them fit??

It should be a direct bolt in, I know some people who have bought the viper upgrade shocks to put in many older proaction skids.

did this add any more travel to the SXR? It looks like the SX600R sits quite a bit lower than the Viper I took the shocks out of. Just wondering if anything can be done to get alittle bit more travel out of the SXR by installing the Viper shocks.SWEDE said:It should be a direct bolt in, I know some people who have bought the viper upgrade shocks to put in many older proaction skids.

your sled has the same length shocks on it now. if your sled isnt riding, handling correctly or sits too low, you should go through the skid.
bushings being wore out will make your sled set a little lower.

Is it a sx or sxr? They didn't make a sxr in 99. If it's a sx SWEDE is right if it's a sxr follow BETHEVIPERS directions. If it's a sx i think you need the longer limiter straps.

It is a 1999 SX600R and it looks like it sits quite a bit lower than the Viper I took the shocks out of. Looking to posabily gain some travel on the SX600R if at all possible. Any suggestions????Whiplash said:Is it a sx or sxr? They didn't make a sxr in 99. If it's a sx SWEDE is right if it's a sxr follow BETHEVIPERS directions. I'm not sure that that sled already has the long travel shocks in it, they didn't make the SX-R in 1999, it was still the SX with the short travel shocks all the way around. Didn't make them long travel until 2000. So really unless you find out exactly what model it is (or look and measure the eye-to-eye measurements on the shocks) nobody is really going to know what you have in there to work with.
