Finally git my 2001 SXR 600 dialed in on the rpm side of it.Just need to get better traction or weight tranfer. Put on ajustable control rods but not sure where to start to get better weight transfer.Left the setting of the control rod nuts the way they were when I bought them of a fellow TYer.Front suspension shock set at it's loosest setting, spring just rattles against the retaining washer at the bottom. Rear spring set at softest setting and spring tightened up. Limiter strap threads about 3/16 past the nut.Didn't really notice much of a ski lift today, maybe snow is to powdery still and track really has nothing to grab on to,so it spins like a madman. But launching at 8100 ish and climbs stead to 8500 and pulls like a S.O.B..Will remove .85 inner rivets in the clutch to raise engagement a bit.Engine and clutches are really in tune now, working the best ever. Now need to work on the suspension end of it.Please suggest me something guys. Thanks. ( I do run a 1 1/4 RipSaw )

Centre shock gives you the most traction as it pushes down on the front of the track were there is less wieght under power!Front ski shocks work with the centre because they hold up the front end for ride hieght and the amount of wieght on the centre shock. When i say shocks i mean the amount of pressure on the springs.Rear big shock sets rear ride hieght and travel for bumps and TRANSFER.You dont have a lake racer there but you would like it to hook up and still ride over the bumps without bottoming out and not to stiff for your young back!Tighton up centre front spring so its tight not over tight but tight .Is there a little play in you limit straps with you on the sled if not loosen you ski springs untill there is.Know you no there is wieght on the track when you are going to pin it!So many guys on here say the proaction wont transfer well it does and will big time if you modify the transfer rods or take them right off like a mountain transfer kit. They limit transfer not improve it!If your trasfer rods have the two nuts on them take the bottom ones out and save them run the top ones to the top and reinstall the plastic washer shims.Try for a two inch gap when you are not on the sled.Fra on bottom setting and big shock adjusted so when you stand on the bumper it has good travel range without bottoming out.Know the fun part go out and try it!Two mutch ski lift put the fra in the middle setting and maybie tighten up the big shock.Still two mutch add some washers two the rods for less transfer. Its easier to go back after you see what happens in these settings than trying to figger it out a little at a time.Let me know how it works for you ! len

Hey Bluemonster, I to was having trouble hooking up today snow is to soft and not packed therefore it seems like poor wieght transfer.I will wait a while for better conditions before I start playing with my transfer rods. The head gasket mod and reed spacer were a great improvement. I run a 1.25 ripsaw
