Man those are big carbs!You were asking someone if the axle between the rod bottoms has to come off ? Once the track is adjusted there should be 1 inch gap i run 8 inch wheels with the adjusters like yours.
 
Thanks blue. I figured it would have to come off to give it enough room to put the suspension in the track. With only a 1" gap, it might be a bit tight. I really don't understand a need for that shaft anyways.
 
Your will have to remove the hole rear axle and wheels to put the skid in the track not unless you are built like arnald!The axle is to stop rail flex i suppose.
 
Just studded the track today. A new project needs a new track. The track is a camoplast 9791. Lugs are 0.725". This track has the older style wavy clips.....not the crummy new drilled clips that fill up with plastic and break constantly.


The studs are Woody's Gold Digger 1.075". How's that for penetration?

Are you going to run it on the ice? I have a 1000 with a 1/2 inch speed track with 1.200 chisels in it which makes about a inch of penetration.
 
No, this track is not for the ice. Trail studs are useless on the ice. This track is my trail track.

The track for the ice is a Camoplast 9810R. I just haven't decided to run chisels like I usually do, or go with pics. I have enough time to decide still.

Just got my parts back from being powdercoated by Fireball Coatings. Not too shabby. Still waiting for the billet wheels. I hate waiting.

nice stuff. couldnt you get bigger carbs? looks to be the real restrictor of the project ;) again, nice stuff!!

Sounds & looks like a fun ride, Had the chance to run into Rob some years back down in Onstead running the MSDRA race, Had no clue what we were doing but got pitted next to Rob & he was Great. Helped us with some clutches on a old Indy 600 because the junk we had was just that. He put on two of his clutches to let us use for the Improved 600 class & helped reset the suspension & we made it to the finals whoopin a chit load of big money sleds & just had a riot with him. Thanked him a bunch for everything he did because he went way out of his way to help us, Very cool guy!

Received my billet wheels today. I am not very fond of the way you have to mount the track adjusters on the Mountain Machines Freedom Axel. It looks as though I'm going to have to either undo the bottom of my transfer rods every time i adjust my track, or somehow fit the adjusters on the inside. I'll post some pictures after xmas. The wheels against the black rails look amazing (in my opinion anyways).

Yes Derek. I am going to use the yamaha secondary for sure. I am going to try out the primary first off, but if there's any issues i'm going to buy a micro belmont.
