I'm looking to get a better multimeter. Granted the one I have is probably all I need but it's not always convenient. I have a cheap centech. I was looking at the Craftsman ones and the fluke's. I know the flukes are supposedly the top of the line and it also costs that. What would you folks recommend? I'm looking for audible continuity and such. Probably leads that plug in not just the short 18" that I have now.

Please don't buy another cheep-o (Craftsman) Been there Done that..... I've had a Fluke 77 series II for years and love it ! It's even idiot proof (like if some dummie forgets to switch to Voltage after checking Resistance) Of course....Not that I'd know..... :)

I have a fluke also. Worth the money, some of the guys at work have 77's, mine I think is a 78 and IMO is a little better suited for the auto industry. It has all the DVOM features plus dwell, tach and temp (F/C) functions.
As for leads, I like the coiled wire (like a phone cord) leads. OTC also makes a "bed of nails" clip that is very handy.
If your using it for automotive type diagnosis, make sure that the meter you decide on has at least a 10 amp function. Comes in handy for testing fuel pumps, light curcuits etc.

THanks guys. I went with something the budget would allow after sinking so much coin into the sled and X-mas and everything else. It's better for sure than I had but it couldn't go fluke. Sorry to dissapoint.
