Oil injec. on 80 Srx?

I noticed I had no oil pump drive gear when I disassembled this engine. Is oil injection a wise idea on this or should I just mix the gas and foget about getting the oil injection working? Thanks

My 79 didnt come with oil injection. Not sure about the 80.
