Im thinking of doing the viper head mod and have done many searches

so i need to spray one of the outer gaskets with coper spray. Or would it be better to buy a new head gasket.

also will i gain anything on top?

how much will it bring the compression up?

and has anyone ever had a problem with this mod?

thanks Jay

Head Mod

Jay I think you might want to read some more. Vipers are high compression from the factory. Do you plan to run high octain fuel to increase compression? Most guys on this board who discuss the head mod are reducing the compression because its to high.

Are you going to have your head modded or are you pulling the center layer of the head gasket? Maxdlx

I have a spare set of pistons I will sell you ahead of time. Are you running pipes too. Thats a burn down waiting to happen. Maxdlx

i've heard a LOT of mixed opinions on this issue. many say they've ran w/this mod for many miles troublefree-- whether it was one layer removed or two, not sure. i would like to hear some more feedback on this also. i know that just removing the middle metal layer is safer than two.

ive run 5000 miles w/slp pipes and 1 layer removed.i try to run 92 all the time but have been in situations where it wasnt available.i run it like i did when it had the single pipe and all three layers,to the bars
