Not shure on how cold it is up there we'll figure around 10deg's + ,

MJ #140
JN-0.5(from the very top of the needle it's shim then clip then shim)
PS-2turns
PJ-#52.5

this is for 8200 to 9800ft.

You should not have to "Clutch" for the altitude but might need to raise or drop a few degrees in your secondary due to snow conditions. The snow in the mountians is a but different than here and can also vary in condition by the day.

Have you ever rode on real mountian snow? It is a very different snowmobiling experiance.

You will have to clutch for the altitude.I just got back from wyoming last week and went out there a few times last year and I live in wi.Go by yamaha's recommended specs for altitude.

I've used my old 600 twin a couple times at 9000'+ with the following setup. (I think, notes are at home and I'm not)

Clutching: 8cr's with a 3.6 in each hole. GPG or YSY spring. Short cover. Secondary was a green spring at 70 or 80 and 45 helix.

Mains: 140 or 137.5 depending on the temps. It ran real well with the 137's in there but it cooled off during the day (about 25 degrees from when we started) and I had to ride with the choke on coming off the mtn. It was a bit lean.

Needles in .5 position, screws at 2 turns and 55 pilots.
