Has anyone tried using one of these online dealers offering 25% discount on OEM Yamaha parts...(seattle sports plaza)almost seems to good to be true..?

I have ordered from powerpartsplus.com before, but made the order over the phone. Cause I dont trust my credit card number on any computer. Wasnt a problem but they only offer 20% off but then you have shipping cost vs. just driving to the dealer. I only do this on expensive parts or larger orders.

I live in MN and buy most of my vintage NOS parts from a dealer in NY. My local yamaha shop is only 3 miles away, but dont want to work with me on anything that is vintage.

All the local dealers want 110.00 for a oem SRX piston vs 81.00 from Seattle sports plaza online order...when you times that by 3 plus rings gaskets etc. it really adds up.....

25% off on online ONLY,,phone call orders are 20%,thats not cool,WTF!!!

I have always found ronnies to be on the high side, suggested retail prices and no less. Sure is convenient ordering online though.

Me too thats why i don't order from them..

I have been real happy with Port Yamaha, they are 16% off, ship relatively quick and don't get upset when I call a day or two later and add to my order!

Port Yamaha was real good for me 2! Not so sure about Sled Gear, it has been about a month and no Item, e-mailed them and nothing! I gotta get cracking down on that its snowing outside! :winterrul

parts prices

A friend of mine works at a yamaha dealer.(In Canada)
He told me the consumer pays approximately 100% above dealer cost.
If you lean on your dealer there is no reason he can't give you 20 or 30% off and still make good money.

Just my 2 cents

i hate being bent over!

I own retail and I run on a 40%-60% mark up MOST of the time depending on the item. Any less and you can't pay the overhead and still make a dollar. Not like I am filthy rich off what I do. It's called business. If it were not for those dealers making money on those parts there would be no dealers! That's the only place they make any money so understand that if you feel your getting "bent over" try making it in retail then see how you feel. It's not that easy and it consumes your life. There is no such thing as 9-5.

The thing is if they would just lower there markup a little they would
sell more.

instead of making a $10 dollar profit some of the time why not make
a $5 profit all the time and more often.

i used to buy A LOT of oem parts from my dealer because he gave me
a 20% discount, then they cut it out, so i quit buying parts all together
from there and started buying on line. so look at all that $$ they lost
out on,,a little is better than NONE at all.?????
