Sorry to hop in here but my 02 SRX does the same thing... and I did have one head off to replace gasket! How do you properly purge the air from system?
let it run and make sure all rad are hot and u can get the little bolt out at the rear in the seat

there is a purge/bleeder screw at the back of the tunnel on top of the rear heat exchanger. You gotta remove the seat to get to it. When you are bleeding the system make sure you get the rear of the sled high in the air, make sure you keep the reservoir full under the hood, and bleed it with the sled running. If all the heat exchangers get equally hot you are most likely in good shape.

so any ideas on whats going on? do i have the same problem as was mentioned above and i need to take my seat off and bleed the system or do those 7 flashes in a row mean its over heating?or can it be my waterpump..
i think i read a post before that a wire for the coolant senser was rubbing somewhere close to the sensor

7 flashes in a row means there's "Discontinuity or shorting of the servo motor".I dont know why I didn't think of that sooner but check the connectors that run along the front on the airbox and make sure they are all plugged together tightly.According to the manual the problem lies with the power valve servo motor so check that out and let us know what you find.Check for broken wires or loose connectors.

If all that's wrong is just the servo motor for the power valves then it should be ok to run,all that will happen is your sled wont realize full operating hp.The pv's control the mid to upper hp range so the engine won't get to full power which is why your sleds temp light was flashing at the mph you were stating. It was asking for the power valves to open up and give full flow for the cylinders but it apparently cant so that is where the fault code is coming from.

hey four barell
i just tryed it again today man this thing is so confusing. lol..got up to 190kph on the speedo today..i have her on a stand so i can test..so most likely cant be the servo motor shorting ..

Well I don't know what to tell ya now....lol
Have you checked to make sure that the motor is working?Take the cover off of the power valve servo motor(3 philips head screws),run the sled and watch the motor to make sure it's cycling properly. If you start the sled and adjust the idle screw so the sled is idling below 1000 it will open the pv's all the way. This is one way guys use to adjust the cables for the valves but it should also tell you if the motor is working. If your getting that kind of speed out of the engine then I'd say they were working but I'm by no means a mechanic and am just giving advice on what I've gone through with mine.Hope you trace it down.

My 01 SRX does the same thing. Only at wide open throttle and when she gets over about 80mph or so. I have never counted how many times she flashes though, but the sled runs like a bat outta hell still.

hey triple triple
its a weird problem but im not too worried about it for now must just be something stupid.. how long have you had the same problem? ohh and if you can jack the back of your machine up and try and count how many time it flashes.. would be interesting to compare thanks

I know you said the servo motor is working, but the motor could be pulling on broken cables. When you had the servo cover off did you pull on the cables to see if they are still attached? You should be able to feel them pulling on the valves.
Also have you had the valves out this yr? I would take them out and check the springs behind them. I had a spring in the housing broke last yr and was giving me some greif.
Just a thought.

all power valves have been out cleaned and all 3 replaced along with brand new cables..but im sure its not that as i stated above im getting about 190kph when my sled is on a stand. so i think thats out of the questions thanks anyways and i will double check...im sure its something electrical and stupid..never did this before my tune up

When we head back up north (if we ever get friggin snow again ) I'll jack it up and see how many times she does it.

Try and get as detailed a description of the work done as you can including what wire connectors were unplugged, what was taken apart etc.Trace out as much of the wire harness as possible on the sled, there could be a pinched wire somewhere.I dont know I'm taking shots in the dark here,LOL.

temp sending unit
Hey. I had that happen on my 02 Viper at the start of this year. Turns out that my plug was coming out of my sending unit, by the thermostat. IT's a two wire plug and I pushed it back up in there and it stopped blinking. I just thought it was a feature designed to tell you if your idiot light wiring for the high temp has a problem. Maybe this helps.
