I am using a new Ultimax 3 belt ,8DN-20 weights with .85g inner hole and 2.7 g outer holes with stock primary spring with 4 engagement washers.Secondary has the Dalton 51/43 Helix wrapped at 80 with the green spring.Just waiting for my 5.6mm rollers for my primary with these weights. But sled pulls out of the hole at 8100 and really pulls nicely to 8500 WOT.The new rollers will help raise my engagement rpm and holeshot rpm ,so that will be good.Question is wrapping my secondary to say 70 ,is this going to do anything other keep less pressure on the belt.It will help in backshift most probably.Trick is to not get belt slipping..right.What have you guys basically used on your wrap and what have you found that works best.Just a general question.Every sled is different I know.

You said that the secondary was at 80. If you go down to 70, there will be less backshift and less pressure. 70 is average though, so I would try it. As long as it don't slip, it should upshift or accelerate faster.
I usually use the OEM belt, so when i tried the Ultimax, the clutching was out by 200-300 rpm. It must have a different compound, so just keep that in mind when adjusting the setup.

Well dutchman I will put my OEM belt back on to see what gives. It is in good shape from last year. The Utimax 3 is supposed have a softer compound and grab better. Will have to make ajustments accordingly depending on which belt I put in.

I personally run 8dn, and have had nothing but praise for oem belts. Tried aftermarket belts and had grief with them. I would rather run a season old 8dn than any new aftermarket. After adjusting for the new belt, and cleaning the new belt with soap and water, its set and forget basically. I run 80 on my green secondary spring, as i rarely run hardpack, and appreciate the backshift. If i know im going on hardpacked trails, ill run 70.

thanks there boondoctor for the info.Like to hear stuff like this from others who have gone through it.Since I bought it,guess I'll have to put up with the grief, just for a short spell. My OEM belt I purchased last year is still in good shape,I needed a spare belt anyways in case I break one.I have another OEM belt which is basically new,but smaller by a tad.Came with the sled when I bought it.It has the wrong part number on it.
