secondary twist

hi, just bought a 53-43 and green spring, how do i set the twist, I was told to do a 70deg how do i do that.

You want the number six on the helix and one on the sheave. You add the numbers together and multiply by 10 and that is your twist.

also what do i torque the secondary back at. I think its 45ft pounds am I write.

I usually go about 35-40 ft-lbs

Hey JaysV...I'd be curious to how the difference turned out for ya...
I just picked up a dalton 52/42...and will be getting agreen spring shortly...
I'm hoping they're pretty close..was told to install 8DN-20's...Gunna try it
straight up first and then see the outcome before I change up...
Anyways...any info in performance is greatly appreciated..

jay the only thing I wanna add is that when you place the spring in the correct hole in clutch and the coreect hole in helix, you will notice the studs and holes for helix dont line up, you grasp the clutch with your left hand and the helix with your right and twist it to the right, to align the holes and push the helix down over the studs. Another tip that makes it very simple is to place a roll of duct tape on the table flat, and place the backside of clutch on top of it, this keeps the sheaves from spreading apart and lowering the height of the studs to the helix.
