Viper Chain Case Maintence

HELLO GUYS I BOUGHT AN 02 VIPER USED AND WANTED TO CHECK THE CHAIN ANY SPECS OR TENSION TIPS THANKS...... ALSO I ASKED ABOUT OIL CHOICES AND IM GOING TO RUN AMSOIL INTERCEPTER THE SLED HAS A HALF A TANK OF MAXIUM TUNDRA R ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE THE SWITCH SHOULD I DRAIN IT ???????????????

Ok adjust chain so it has about 3/8play on each side of the long section. replace your gearoil with a good quality atfafter you do this check to make sure there is no leaks.

for the oil i would run it till its almost empty and fill it up with amsoil, i dont think there would be any probs with mixxing the 2.

if you use the search you will find many posts on atf oil and chain tension.

Chain goes finger tight or LESS.(or look above^^^)

no need to drain, run old oil down low to a safe level then dump the ams in.

chain case oil i use this, in all my sleds,has a Pour Point of -67 good stuff.
