theres two different versions
when looking into the outlet of the stock exaust youl see a bafle plate
1- drill one 1 1/2 inch hole in the plate
or drill 5 1/2 inch holes in the plate
dont know wich is best mine is 5 holes love the sound and from what i can tell there is a performance gain.

As XT said it is cutting some out of the final baffle of the exhaust, allows it to breath easier, sounds better, and adds a little bit of horsepower. That along with the reed stopper notch and taking a layer or two out of the headgasket is good for a few horses.
Do you have to make any jetting changes if you drill the holes? How loud does it make your exhaust, is it a deeper sound?

No you dont have to rejet, the stock jetting is fat enough as it is to allowing flowing some more air safely.
So I can't do this to my srx?

Nope can't do it on the srx. A couple years ago someone took an srx stock canister apart and gutted it out, and i believe they did the same thing with a viper silencer as well, and then put them on the dyno to see if there were any gains and they found no benefit in gutting those particular silencers, only the non-powervalve 6 and 700's.

I wonder how they sounded. I'm just looking for a little extra sound.yamaholic22 said:Nope can't do it on the srx. Go on the technical page, there is a sound clip there under silencer mod heading on one of those pages.
