Rpm ?

Hey all

What rpm should my 97 700 sx top out at??? I am hitting around 8200 rpm on a flat out run.
I have put 8g weights in and changed my stationary clutch sheeve from a srx
Stock gearing, stock exhaust, new belt

I believe a new belt will lower your rpms alittle, and your rpms should be around 8500 rpm. You probably have to much weight in your primary because those style motors naturally over-rev to about 8,800-8,900 rpm.Are you using your stock weights/rollers?

8200 is a good starting rpm but you should be 85-8600 on a long run for best mph.
