I highly doubt a deer was sucked up into the suspension. More than likely, the deer was place there. Mythbusters tried to prove if the force of a train traveling at a high rate a speed could suck a human (Buster) and/or a baby stroller toward the passing train. Myth Busted!
But you could submit this myth to the Mythbusters and let them try to prove whether or not this is even possible.

That's is some wild and crazy sh_t. Hope that never happens to me. Sounds like it was in middle of trail and he tried using it for a ramp and the leg or something got stuck and pulled entire carcass in.

I think the key sentence in that article is "While waiting for our mealr" I think I would have lost said dinner if the viewing were to come after dinner.

Deer Story
Those old Vmax's, sure were killer sleds! I know I had some close calls in the UP on the old railroad grade comming out of Bruce crossing, only got fur and never the hole thing. Man that guy was lucky! Only one thing worse to see on the trail when you are rounding a corner and that is a MOOSE, deer usually move but a Moose will just stand and look at you! Be safe out there!
