Im pretty new in the clutch work and my secondary and helix came in today for my 02 viper. The helix is a 48/40 with a green secondary and have some heelclickers coming soon. Put the helix and spring on at a 70 degree twist and it woudn't even get going all it would do is slip! Put it at a 90 and seemed alright until today when it was slipping again! Did i do something wrong? I got the twist right, but im lost! The belt is in good shape i need some help
Did you check your belt deflection. the belt should sit level or just above the top of the secondary. Make sure the e brake isn't on. Post back what you find. Maxdlx

I think I would double check the twist? the spring end didn't pop out of the hole?

No the ebrake isn't on... i made sure i checked that one. I doubled checked the twist, and it is set at 90 degrees, 70 degrees or 60 degrees was horrible and woudlnt even take off... The only thing i could think of was the belt being to warn. I just backed it off like u usually take a belt off but it seems a little worn or streched, might try putting another one on... i never took any of the clutches off so it should still be in allignment right?

never assume it cant be alignment even if you did not take it apart.
Check center to center. Are you sure you put the helix in properly and actually twisted properly.

Did you twist the helix clockwise to retighten it? Sounds like that your problem.

Yeah i can try doing it again... i twisted it right until the holes lined up, everything seemed to go back together the way it should of. i think at least. I know i have the proper twist, right now it is at 90 degrees, but i will go see if i can fittle around with it more

Alright so due to the lack of snow it is tuff for me to test anything... i turned the helix all the way to the right and placed it on the 1 hole on the sleave and 6 on the helix for a 70 degree twist. Things seem to be ok now i think, i am bringing it down to the dealer for a tune up and will help them check the allignment of the clutch. Hard to screw it up but i did some how!

Well it is still not right, even tried putting the other belt on. Then i went ahead and put the stock helix and spring on at 70 degrees. Still slips and makes funny noises! How could i of screwed this up? I need a vacation....

have a camera? might be easier if you took a few pictures of the way you did things. How much did you have to twist the helix to get the ramps to properly sit on the buttons? Pretty hard to answer for sure.

Well it didn't start happening until i did this to it... and it stops every now and then when i change the twist. I didn't have to twist the helix very much to get everything to line up the way it should with the 70 degree twist more with the 90
