heelclicker warnings for srx

so is this a good setup?

Sorry Guys, I guess im confusing what I am tryint to say.
I know you cant have a perfect set up for all situations, I ride on trails, and lakes with packed and virgin snow that can be up to a foot deep ith slush at times. What I was trying to say was the dealer here in Sudbury told me that under no circumstances can an srx use any multi angled helixes unless it is on hard packed. I was told if i go off the trail and drive in virgin snow on a lake and try to throttle on throttle off, the backshift will destroy my clutch bushings in a very short time. i aggree with everything you have all said. I was just told by the dealer mechanic in Sudbury that i will be very sorry if i run in snow and blow up my clutch with a multi angle.
just to confirm the experts recomndations, i have the hc with the moveable heel. (40-10) using a screw in the heel with 3 washers and a screw in the tip with 2 washers and a red spring and a 50 36 helix at 70 degrees. is that right?
Perhaps the dealer wanted to sell me another helix, or.... didnt want me to have a good set up and to buy his personal set up. Not sure.
Its funny how dealers are,.... they scoff at suggestions made here as being unreliable. One mechanic told me that if he invested time and money to figure out a working clutch set up, would i be dumb enough to post it here or would i want to sell it? He claims free advice is risky advise.
I trust Turk and Tony big time. I have been on these sites for 5 plus years, just never signed up officially.
so is my set up correct tony, turk?
thanks guys, your better than any dealer for getting down to the truth about what works.
ps the offer is still valid whoever wants the results for all the testing of the hc with different combos on an srx 2001.

If your rpm,s are good & belt ain,t slipping or secondary is too tight your set up is good. Only you can know that.

LAST TIME I BLEW A BELT ON ANY SLED WAS BEFORE I GOT RID OF MY 500 PRO STOCK 79 SRX MOD. AND THAN WE BUILT TORQUE ARMS AND EVEN STOPED IT ON THEM. I RACE TWO VMAX4 800,s AND TWO 700 SRX,s NEVER BLEW A BELT ON 4 SLED HERE. 3:16 (tony)

Rob, The Clickers Were New Too Me. I Heard Of Them , But Made Fun Of Them. It Just Seemed Like For What I Do, I Was Stonewalled With My 8bu-00 Set-up. Which Was Great By The Way. Now Is This Clicker Set-up Faster, I,ll Say I Bet You Run A Lower Et With Them, And I Believe You Put More Power Down, Again I Was Lucky, These Guys Gave Me Start, I Than Fine Tuned With Helix!! See I Want Too Race Only, Are The Clickers A Race Only Weight, I Don,t Believe They Are Because Of The Tuneing Options You Have. I Would Say You Bassly Have There Where I Am At In My 2000 Srx. Keep In Mind You Have Too Tune, Tune, Test, Test, With These.

Well I asked because I have a 1000 srx with a polaris primary and I want to run heelclickers. I have blown belts in other sleds with other weights and never had a clutch come apart. I imagin that this sled may eat a belt from time to time and it would suck if it destroyed the clutch too.

How did the polaris clutch on your sled I had one on mine it worked great but had to take it off because it had a crack in the sheave and put another one on and couldn't get that one to work

guys, alot of the problem is the different rollers. if you use 15.5 rollers and close the clutch on some clutches the heel will touch the sheave. on trail setups you sould use 15.5 rollers with clickers and grind a little relief under the heel for safety.

if you use 14.5 rollers you need to grind alot of relief, especially if you have cut overdrive out of the primary.

they are a great product, i do however think he should have spent a little more money on production quality on every level.

your mechanic i think is talking about the three plastic buttons that the helix runs on. a straight rate helix will never wear these out. with a multi angle they do wear out faster.

The polaris primary works great. I ran it on the sled when it was an 800 with good sucess. In my opinion they are better than the yamaha. One of these days I will upgrade to a Micro Belmont.
